Build More Than Roofs — Build a Career You’re Proud Of
Curtis Construction has served Eastern North Carolina for over 65 years by doing quality work, building strong relationships, and treating people the right way. We’re a values-driven commercial roofing contractor looking to add a Superintendent to our team.
We’re focused on finding the right person for our team. While prior experience in commercial roofing or construction leadership is important, we place a high value on character, work ethic, and fit with our values. With the right foundation and mindset, we’re willing to train and develop the right candidate into this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and support field crews on commercial roofing projects.
- Plan and prepare jobs by coordinating materials, equipment, schedules, and logistics.
- Maintain daily communication with customers, project managers, and field leaders.
- Work with project management and safety leadership to implement safe work plans.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor safety, quality, and production.
- Set and track production goals.
- Perform quality control inspections and provide feedback to crew leaders.
- Train, mentor, and develop crew leaders and new team members.
- Assist crews hands-on when needed and lead by example.
This is a primarily field-based role. Most of your time will be spent on active job sites supporting crews, overseeing work, and solving problems in real time. Regular desk work is not expected, especially early on. As the role grows, there may be opportunities to train for additional planning, coordination, or administrative tasks as needed.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Construction or roofing experience with transferable leadership skills.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead crews with accountability, consistency, and respect.
- Proactive, hands-on approach to leadership.
- Willingness to learn, grow, and adapt.
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications is a plus.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- English fluency required (Spanish a plus).
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $60,000–$75,000 per year (depending on experience).
- Company truck provided.
- Opportunities for growth, increased responsibility, and future compensation advancement.
- Stable, long-term employment with an established company.
- Team-focused culture where your work and input matter.
